This is possible the greatest dramatic, heart wrenching, action packed episode in Geass history! Kallen is back to kick ass.
(looks like this place is Armageddon!)
With Gefion Disturber active, Area 11 is now on its way for liberation by the Black Knights.
The hearings that Zero has appeared reached Kallen. Gino has realised that she is on Zero’s side even thou she is half Eleven and half Britannian. He did not persuade her further to change sides.
Zero is on the battlefield confirming and commanding the status of the operation. The only problem is dealing with the sixth generation Knightmares that are unaffected the Disturber. On the other hand Rolo is infiltrating the main headquarters, where Nunally is located.
Suzaku appeared on the battlefield. His Lancelot is equipped with “heavy tactical class warhead” which is a smart ass way of saying “I have a nuke”.
Jeremiah then steps in to get rid of Suzaku.
“Kururugi Suzaku, I owe you a favor.”
-Jeremiah
It must be very uncomfortable to sleep with a metal engraving attached to your face. Probably every time he turn his head in sleep, his skin is twisting (this just gave me a nasty impression). Not to mention the plugs he has on his back. Sure it gives him superior Knightmare piloting attributes, however he probably looses a lot of sleep with these uncomfortable things.
Questioning why in the world is Guilford is fighting against Britannia, regardless he still joins Black Knight’s forces whilst under Geass.
“Kururugi, we both serve our own lords.”
-Guilford
It’s seen that Nina’s obsession with taking out Zero places some pressure on Suzaku to deploy FLEIJA, Field Limited Effective Implosion Armament (20:35) (eclipse subs have misspelled FLEIA). It sure is easier to say than do it yourself, looks like Nina is completely blinded and obsessed with wasting Zero, giving little care to her surroundings.
Gino is also crashing the party, just saving Suzaku from Jeremiah’s Sutherland’s grasp.
As the battle rages on in Arean 11, we move to Rolo’s current position towards retrieving Nannally. However Rolo has his own plan to get rid of her, as he thinks that he is enough of family for Lelouch (I think he’s getting greedy here, it has to be the charm!).
I will find Nannally and kill her.
-Rolo
After some battlefield action, Suzaku asks Lelouch if he started this battle because of him. Lelouch explained that he betrayed his parents, Japan and friendship. Suzaku probably realised that it’s to late to convince him that Schneizel set him up to capture Zero.
Anya drops by and greets Zero with her Stark Hadron cannon. That makes a count of three Rounds on the battlefield. It’s possible that she does not have a soul, just look at her, she’s always emotionless and mercy less.
Meanwhile Nannally is boarding the escape craft, however it can’t fly unless Gefion Disturbers are out of function. Nannally’s right hand witch discusses with someone Kallen’s execution without Nunnally’s consent.
(the tears are there to trick you)
Miraculosly Kallen has been rescued by Sayoko and is presented with skin tight uniform that she uses to pilot her Guren.
With Gefion Disturbers neutralised, Britannia is again at full power.
We get a glimpse of Tamaki being incredibly useless that he is an embarrassment to nature from my point of view. At least he’s in the battlefield attempting to fight, unlike Ohgi who just stands in Ikaruga bridge looking all confused.
(umm, this is not funny)
Suddenly whilst still fighting against Zero, Anya has one of effects where she splits into three primary colors and goes confused (Zero’s safe *relief*). This is done without explanation. I honestly don’t think there will be enough episodes to cover all the questions that the audience has.
His safety was short lived when yet another Round appeared. Lucian Bradley started acting all scary, lecturing Lulu about how precious life is, and how much of a psycho he is who will gladly take it away.
Back to Kallen’s current situation. Sayoko prepares Guren for her (why does she wear a scarf and her maid cap while at the same time wearing something like a white swimming suit?)
And finally Kallen is now back in action with her invincible Guren (optimistic background music is introduced).
We see Kallen roaming with complete freedom in her new Guren. However I noticed that she probably experienced a few thousand g’s of force with that massive acceleration. Why she hasn’t passed out yet only the director knows.
We get a glimpse of Charles watching the arena (I think he likes live entertainment). Of course upon trying to save Zero from the Joker (Bradley), Tamaki got pwned with just one rocket from his Knightmare (stop stealing air time useless).
Looks like Joker is about to destroy Zero…
…Kallen’s new Guren destroys four Knightmares that have been restraining Zero in less than a second.
Then it takes about 3 seconds to waste Bradley. More relief comes when she tells him that same life lectures that he was yelling earlier. Kallen VS Knight Ten, Kallen = fatality!
Question: What is it that’s most important to you?
-Kallen
Seriously new Guren is cheating (not like I’m complaining, new Gurn pwns). It’s like turning on at the same time invincibility, unlimited ammo no reloads and no clipping.
With number ten and six gone (such big relief to see him gone, he will stop stealing air time) Suzaku and Gino are the only Rounds left.
Toudou is on a verge of attacking Schneizel’s base, however he was interrupted by Asahina. He sends him some testimonial data from Kinoshita (killed in action half way through the episode) about Zero. He also plans to restrain Rolo. Again more questions arise and no answers are given.
“We cannot trust Zero after all!”
-Asahina
We are hinted that Cornelia escapes from her captive cell. Ohgi wonders that it could have been his love Villetta.
Take a note of this. We can see the escape ship where Nunnally is and that witch that’s always near her. The ship is descending. And we see Rolo approaching it. Later Sayoko is reunited with Nannally.
Whist fighting Kallen, Suzaky has reaslised that he does not stand a chance against Guren. With his Lancelot slowly breaking down to pieces, Kallen is about to go for the kill and Suzaku accepts it as his atonement.
A flashback from the previous season shows us that Suzaku is still under Lulu’s Geass to live on. Therefore he refuses to die, firing FLEIJA at Kallen’s Guren.
After an easy dodge by Kallen, FLEIJA continues its forwards path toward the main Britannia’s headquarters where Nunnally is located and is about to detonate (a very evil smile is expressed on Schneizel’s face).
Britannian forces retreat immediately. Unknowing why and sensing something dangerous Black Knights also decide on a full retreat as well. Lelouch is in full shock as Nannally is still inside that fortress.
For a few seconds this place was Armageddon. Everything that comes in contact with this light tends to particalise and vanish from existence.
The most heart breaking emotional music kicks in. We see that Nannally and Asahina have a pink color wash symbolising that they are about to disappear.
After violoncello fades briefly, Guilford saves frozen Lelouch from being consumed by that blast. At that time violin steps in and pretty much tells us to break down in tears when Guilford’s life is sacrificed as a result of loyalty to the princess.
Lelouch is now in an indescribable state. He requests Rolo to speak with Nannally. Rolo replies negatively, however Lelouch refuses to believe the reality. Episode ends.
“Do you think I can speak to Nunnally?”
-Lelouch
This has to be my favorite episode in the entire season. There is a lot of action with incredible artistic effects that it’s brilliant. So much has happened in this episode that I will hold my anger on Sunrise for having so many questions about this series.
Most people are probably questioning if Nunnally died. And there is no way I’m going to have sleepless nights trying to figure that out. However let’s think about this a little.
Previously you noted that Rolo was near the ship that Nannally is in (maybe I’m mistaken). Sayoko was seen to have entered that ship with Nannally. It’s possible to conclude that Rolo and Sayoko were together, yet It seems that Rolo was the only person to reply to Lelouch. Also hints from the pink light that they faced give away more hints that they were obliterated there.
Also this explosion could symbolise previous nukes that Japan has received, perhaps director wants to indirectly symbolise that. This would mean that Nunnally dies.
Again on the other hand if Nunnally did die, Lelouch would have no initiative to fight further as he only did all this for her meaning the series would end.

as I sat there watching this episode, I thought to my self “This is the best episode EVER!”.
This episode provided so many different emotions at once, but the only one that mattered really was: ” She can’t be DEAD!”. I simply can not wait to see the next episode! Question for you though, where do you watch the episodes of Code Geass R2? Those screen shots are AMAZING!!
